I have had a Kidney transplant 2-1/2 years ago and I do not have any prescription insurance. I live in Texas and am wondering if anyone has any suggestions on where to get help obtaining Sensipar? It is almost a $1000.00 a month. I am currently getting it through the Safety Net Foundation (Amgen) but it is for a one-year duration and not renewable. Any suggestions would be much, much appreciated. |

Hopefully, you found a solution to your problem. You might discuss it with your transplant coordinator or social worker at your transplant center if you have not gotten a solution. Good luck!

Now you've got me worried! I'm also getting Sensipar from The Safety Net Foundation. I've been taking it for over 6 yrs, but my insurance company recently decided that they won't pay for it any more because it's for dialysis patients & I'm not on dialysis. I started getting it from The Safety Net Foundation in July, but from what I understood, you can re-apply after the year is up. They're telling me now that I'm only approved thru the end of December this year. They said that I have to re-apply in January because there could be insurance changes effective for the new year & I'll have to be approved all over again.....hopefully. Did you ask about that? It's a pain, but worth it......who can pay that on their own every month?? Are you sure you can't call them & re-register?? |
