Dear all

I hope you don't mind me using your forum for this kind of thing but I work for a television production company in England called Raw TV.

We are producing a new series for Discovery Science Channel and are hoping to include the intriguing and incredible topic of "cell memory" - a phenomenon demonstrated by reports and studies carried out involving organ transplant recipients who have reportedly taken on some of the personality, eating habits, characteristics etc of their organ donors.

We are looking for anyone who believes to have had significant changes in their personality etc following their transplant and has information about their donor which shows obvious similarities between donor and recipient. Especially those whose family can verify these accounts.

We will have various scientists speaking within the show about "cell memory" and studies they have carried out on the phenomenon.

Please get in touch if you think you can help us find anyone who has experienced this themselves. Email me at olivia.isaacs@raw.co.uk

Thank you for your time.

Olivia

Hi there,

I may be able to help out here. This is a topic that I have been aching to know more about, but it seems to be something nobody wants to talk about much, or else something very few people have experienced for themselves.

I was born with cystic fibrosis and at the age of 27, found I needed a new pair of lungs to keep living. I only waited for nine months before getting the call one morning in January.

I was transplanted almost six years ago in Vancouver, BC, Canada. My surgery did not go well and I ended up nearly dying several times, having had several major complications over the course of a month or so. The things that I experienced were VERY interesting and scary, and not only have I gained new skills and personality traits, but I have had to live and get used to the feeling of sharing my body with this other "presence", or at the best of times, the feeling of being somewhat tied to the man whose lungs these used to be.

I don't want to get into too much detail on here for fear of friends thinking I'm a weirdo, but I absolutely believe in cellular memory, and I believe that there must be some places in our body that carry the neurological capacity, or even the tissue, to preserve memories.

You can reach me via email or by replying to this thread.

Thanks for your interest!

Oh rats, I just saw that this was posted back in February. Also, that I should have responded via email.
