I was prescribed 10,000 UI of Aquadeks daily. But it's $80, I called my coordinator to see if there is an alternative I could take. She connected me with the nutritionist who said she would write a letter to my insurance co and it would take 1-2 weeks. She said I could not take it for that time and I would be fine since I am out of it. As soon as I stopped taking it, I starting to feel tired and weak. But anything I get over the counter isn't close to the dose I need. If I get a "one a day" multi vitamin (700IU)... is there harm in taking a few pills throughout the day or should I just take the one and continue to feel tired until the other prescription is worked out?

Amazon sells these for about $40 if that helps at all.

Try this site also to see if it would help - one claim was that these cost about $25:

I have not heard of these and have been disappointed in the nutrition analysis at UW and lack of direction about vitamins both at UW and my hepatologist. Have others experienced more energy from these? And are you pre or post tx? I am pre - but just went on the active call list so they say to expect surgery in about 6 months when my score will be 28.

I just looked up Aquadeks on the web at Amazon.com and sourcecf.com to get these prices. I am post kidney tx but have never used these - the directions say that are special for cystic fibrosis patients. Click on the underlined sentences and that should take you to the web site where you can get more info. If your doctor doesn't help you, you will have to be your own advocate - i just thought at least if you need these, you could save some money at these sites. Are the Aquadeks on the Amazon site not the correct strength?

Did you try asking for a second opinion from a different nutritionist? I guess you have too.
