I have to admit being proud after seeing an Bollywood movie last night. One of the actors was playing a Hindu sage, and thus had to be bare chested. His classic liver transplant "peace sign" was clearly visible. I was impressed both at how the directors had cast him for this role, and how he agreed to having most of the world see his large scar.

I also serve as a cantor in a Hindu temple, and I have no qualms about my "medal of honor" being seen by others.

Good for you Mohan. I think it is great to think of your scar as a "medal of honor."

Mine is more like a T with a very long top and short down stroke. Truth be told, I was looking forward to the peace sign, much more cache than the T

Mine looks like a wishbone that's longer on one side and it's on the gnarly side because they took the staples out and tore it back open due to an infection. I'm proud as heck of it though. My wife and kids get mad because I'll show it to anyone, pretty much anywhere.

Ha,
I think our surgeons do creative derma scripting to get to our livers, cause I also did not get a peace sign. I got a Hockey Stick. Maybe because I am Canadian??

I've got the 'Benz' cut. Looks like a Mercedes emblem. Not really showing it off much. Some people are really put off by it.

Mine looks like a peace sign. Your scars are what you make of it. I love rocking bikinis all summer long and I can't say the last time I had someone say something to me about the scar....I think as long as we do not notice it then other people will not notice it. On a side note, check out my company www.rockscarlove.com (see my profile pic)....we celebrate the sexy scars tath come from transplant!

It doesn't bother me if someone sees most of my scars, but don't care to show them off either.
