Hi, I'm srikanth, completed 5 yrs kidney transplant successfully. I'm a regular reader/subscriber of this blog from since my transplant. I read all articles related to health, diet, kidney related articles. Blog author is doing great work and thanks for your support for organ transplant patients. Now I just want to know if anyone drinking wheat grass powder/juice after kidney transplant to control Blood sugar, High BP (i have both) and to improve hemoglobin. Norman people can drink this wheat grass juice without any side effects but i'm a kidney transplant patient i'm afraid it will effect my medicine (I doubt). But read on web no side effects. Kindly guide me about this. |

Hello Srikanth Welcome I have no clue if Wheat Grass juice would interact with your drugs or not. Maybe yes and maybe no. Do you eat very healthy foods and exercise- if you do, you might see an improvement with your glucose numbers. I do not believe in any supplement to have such a strong effect on a transplant patient to improve their health like exercise and solid nutrition. If you have a drink of wheat grass, I would only do so if you are feeling very healthy that day. After drinking Wheat Grass pay attention to how you are feeling? Do you feel better or worse? Be honest with yourself. Personally, I tried Wheat Grass many years before my transplant. I never felt it was good for me. I then tried after my transplant, I did not notice any difference. For some reason, I just don't like it. My husband bought a Wheat Grass machine and now we hardly use it. I am not saying I would not drink a tiny cup of wheat grass again or not, It is not on my list of top priorities. Have you tried Fire Breathing (Indian Pranayana) The other day, I checked my glucose numbers then practice several minutes of Fire Breath exercises and my glucose numbers dropped 20 points. Then I took my Prograf (drug) and within a half hour my glucose numbers jumped back up 20 points. Look up Breath of Fire or Fire Breathing. Also look up Bellows Breathing; I will try and find some videos for you.
